2007 is nearly over and although part of me wants to just say good riddance and get on with it, it’s actually been a pretty good year. I won’t bore you with the details of my life but like most of you (I hope), I’ve had mostly really great moments and a few really crappy ones.
Thanks so much to everyone who wrote in this year. I sincerely hope that my advice was helpful. So far there haven’t been any death threats for me so I guess I’m doing okay. Thanks further for the great feedback I’ve gotten from so many of you (you know who you are.) Although I can’t always reply, I do read every single email that comes my way.
I’m especially grateful to those of you who let me know how the advice helped you. It meant so much to me to hear back from you and find out how things turned out so, thanks.
Since I’ll be on vacation over the holidays, and because it’s that time of year, I thought I’d put together a kind of “best of 2007” column. These are some columns that I think deal with universal problems and are kinda fun to read. Since we’ll be away for 2 weeks, I’ve given you a few to keep you busy over the holidays and give you a place to go when you need to get away from your snoring / groping / drunken uncle and / or helping mom with the dishes, setting up Junior’s new toys with assembly required etc.
Whatever you celebrate at this time of year (and even if you don’t) I hope you have a safe happy holiday, and I wish you all the best for 2008. Look for me under a coconut tree with a pina colada in one hand and a trashy novel in the other!
So here they are in no particular order:
August 13
"My boyfriend and I are great together! But he has a female cousin who is a year younger. When I'm around she’s all over him, touching him, FLIRTING with him. She always sits between us when we’re together."
August 20
"Now that he's back home with his fiancé, he sends text messages late at night, telling me how it took all his will power not to make a move on me and how sweet and attractive he finds me."
March 29
"Two weeks after the breakup, I found out that he's married, and was dating 5 other girls at the same time. SHOCKER!! Surprisingly, when I read the txt msg from his wife, I wasn't shocked, surprised about the 5 other girls, but I was a little shocked about the wife."
July 30
"Yesterday, she took her to the zoo. There’s a group of moms in our neighbourhood that do that kind of thing once or twice a week. Anyway, yesterday was different because she went with a dad and his son."
November 5
"The issue is NOT that I am thinking of rekindling anything. But I couldn't help but feel sad at this event thinking back on our relationship. She really hasn't moved on it seems and I feel she could be doing more with her life."
April 19 + 16
"People have told me to leave her, just let her go. But I can't. I love her. People have also said she's seeing someone else. I just don't know what to do. She says she loves me too, but this move is for the best."
