Ty Harper
Ty Harper is one of those dudes you meet that speaks very little on what he does unless asked directly. He’s the guy who, when you see him, makes you say to yourself “I know this dude..but from where?”. Born and raised in Malvern until his parents took the family to Trinidad to live for 8 years, Ty is one of the lucky ones that got the best of both cultures. Working in Hmv 333’s “Bassment” was another lucky opportunity that helped in his growth and appreciation for music. Starting at Flow 93.5 as a board-operator lead to his meeting rez DigitaL who was a member of TeamFlow. After realizing rez’s similar interest in becoming a personality, Ty pitched him the idea for OTA Live and the rest was history. rez’s production-savy abilities clicked with Ty’s vision for a show that did more than just play the songs. With a drive to provide and balance the culture of hiphop with the culture of Toronto, Ty hopes to be a pioneer among the likes of Ron Nelson, Paul E. Lopes and Master T, all of whom he considers “Godfathers” of the Toronto hiphop movement. For Ty nothing is more important than respecting their sacrifices and building the heart of Toronto’s culture through music. If OTA Live is his first venture to that goal, he’s on the right track.

Boogeyme'n
The Boogeyme’n represents The Sound Quest crew. A collective of hiphop deejays that has seen the likes of Dr. Jay, Toronto house icon Mike Stitchon and others pass through its ranks. Started in the late 80’s by Frank and Joey Condo, The Boogeyme’n along with Max B. joined the crew in 94. He has been a fixture in the Toronto club scene for almost a decade and probably one of the humblest deejays in the city considering his abilities and experience. He can be found doing various events that display his versatility and depth not only as a deejay but as a music-head. It’s these traits that lead to his joining the fold along with Max B, as part of the OTA Live roster with The Burn, a half-hour mixshow that holds no boundaries. Ask The Boogeyme’n what his vision is for music and he’ll tell you “To have people hear a house record and a Kanye or Dipset joint and be totally feeling them like they were the same thing…I think it sucks that the only house we can play has to be a classic or a known r&b record that happens to have a house remix”
